Thanks to everyone who attended the Virtual Fall 2020 Penguin Mixer! Thirty-four attendees representing UHS graduating classes ranging from 1983-2020 participated online event rather than the usual in-person happy hour at a Tucson restaurant. As such, the Mixer was open to many more alums and definitely brought in lots of new faces. UHSFAA board member Doraliz Vega (’98) welcomed alumni and then President Darin Guthrie (’95) shared updates about UHSFAA. VP Emma Mendenhall (’10) manned Q and A in the chat. After that, we went around the “room”, with each attendee introducting themselves briefly and sharing what they are doing these days – professionally, academically, etc.
Finally, the breakout rooms were opened and attendees stayed for small group conversations in these rooms, some staying “late” till 7 PM! Participants enjoyed themselves and many attendees from outside of Tucson commented about how great it was to have this online gathering, so that they could participate. Thanks to everyone who organized and participated in the event!
